Sisters Network, Inc. Chapter Presidents
From one Houston , Texas chapter in 1994 with 15 members, Sisters Network, Inc. today boasts 39 chapters in 25 states and 3000 members and associate members. Each affiliate chapter is survivor-run. Under the direction of Founder/National President, Karen E. Jackson, Sisters Network, Inc. outreach initiatives continue to promote the importance of breast health through personal empowerment, support, breast education programs, resources, information, and research through its strong affiliate chapter base.
Sisters Network, Inc. has worked in National Partnership with the Sister Study since 2003, fulfilling their mission of increasing local and national attention to the devastating impact that breast cancer has in the African American Community. Karen Jackson has worked tirelessly to promote the Sister Study and to encourage African American women to take part in this landmark breast cancer research (read her own sister story).
Among the organization’s trademark and successful national community outreach programs is "The Gift for Life Block Walk." During this innovative door-to-door campaign in October, Sister Study literature will be distributed throughout African American neighborhoods across the country. This level of keen understanding of the African American community mindset continues to allow the organization to effectively educate and heighten breast health awareness and survivorship in the African American community.
We are proud to shine a bright spotlight on Sisters Network, Inc. Thanks to Karen Jackson and all Sisters Network members for their commitment to the Sister Study.
